Gin, yellow Chartreuse, orange bitters. The Savoy Cocktail Book, 1930. Bright, herbal, deceptively strong.

  • London Dry Gin2 ounces
  • Yellow Chartreuse¾ ounce
  • Orange Bitters2 dashes

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe.

Notes

Yellow Chartreuse — green is too aggressive here. The drink is mostly gin and Chartreuse; the bitters are accent.
