Bloody Mary

Vodka, tomato juice, lemon, Worcestershire, Tabasco, salt, pepper, celery. Fernand Petiot, Harry's New York Bar, Paris, 1921. Brunch's official drink.

Ingredients

  • Vodka2 ounces
  • Tomato Juice4 ounces
  • Fresh Lemon Juice½ ounce
  • Worcestershire Sauce2 dashes
  • Tabasco3 dashes
  • Salt & Pepper1 pinch
  • Celery Stalk1 each
  • Lemon Wedge1 each

Directions

Rim a highball glass with celery salt. Build over ice: vodka, tomato juice, lemon, Worcestershire, hot sauce, pinch of salt and pepper. Stir gently to combine. Garnish with a celery stalk, lemon wedge, and pickle spear.

Notes

Real tomato juice (not V8), fresh lemon, Worcestershire, hot sauce. Celery salt around the rim is traditional.
