Bourbon Renewal

Bourbon, lemon, crème de cassis, simple syrup, Angostura. Jeffrey Morgenthaler, 2006. A bourbon sour with blackcurrant.

Ingredients

  • Bourbon Whiskey2 ounces
  • Fresh Lemon Juice¾ ounce
  • Crème de Cassis½ ounce
  • Simple Syrup¼ ounce
  • Angostura Bitters2 dashes

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until well-chilled. Strain over a large ice cube.

Notes

The crème de cassis is the lift — bright, sharp, makes the bourbon sing.
