A Bronx with a sprig of mint — gin, both vermouths, and fresh mint shaken in. A genteel, herbal pre-Prohibition refresher.

Ingredients

  • London Dry Gin2 ounces
  • Dry Vermouth½ ounce
  • Sweet Vermouth½ ounce
  • Mint Leaves3 each
  • Mint Sprig1 each

Directions

Shake gin, dry vermouth, sweet vermouth, and mint leaves with ice. Double-strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a mint sprig.

Notes

A New York classic documented in early-1900s manuals. The mint is shaken, not muddled, for a cleaner lift.
