Cuban Cocktail

A brandy sour rounded with apricot — lime, cognac, and stone-fruit liqueur, bright and a little plush. The 'Cuban Cocktail No. 1' of the old books.

Ingredients

  • Cognac1½ ounces
  • Apricot Liqueur¾ ounce
  • Fresh Lime Juice¾ ounce
  • Lime Wheel1 each

Directions

Shake cognac, apricot liqueur, and lime juice with ice. Double-strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Notes

From the Savoy and Cuban bar manuals of the 1920s. Not to be confused with rum drinks of the same era; this one is brandy-based.
