Cynar Toronto

Rye, Cynar, sugar, bitters. A modern variation on the Toronto using Cynar instead of Fernet. Earthier, more vegetal, equally complex.

Ingredients

  • Rye Whiskey2 ounces
  • Cynar½ ounce
  • Demerara Syrup1 teaspoon
  • Angostura Bitters1 dash
  • Orange Peel1 each

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled. Strain over a large ice cube. Express an orange peel over and drop it in.

Notes

Cynar is artichoke-based amaro — bitter and savory in a different way than Fernet.
