Espresso Martini

Vodka, coffee liqueur, fresh espresso. Dick Bradsell, Soho Brasserie, 1983 — invented because a model asked for something that would 'wake me up and fuck me up.'

Ingredients

  • Vodka2 ounces
  • Coffee Liqueur1 ounce
  • Fresh Espresso (hot)1 ounce
  • Simple Syrup (optional)¼ ounce
  • Coffee Beans3 each

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake very hard 15 seconds. Double-strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with three coffee beans.

Notes

Fresh espresso non-negotiable. Cold brew won't froth. Mr. Black or Kahlúa. Shake hard for the signature foam.
