Gin, lemon, simple syrup, Angostura. Dale DeGroff, 1990s. A reimagined Gin Sour with bitters — bright, balanced, deceptively simple.

Ingredients

  • London Dry Gin2 ounces
  • Fresh Lemon Juice¾ ounce
  • Simple Syrup¾ ounce
  • Angostura Bitters2 dashes
  • Angostura Bitters (garnish)1 dash

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until well-chilled. Double-strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a dash of Angostura across the top.

Notes

The Angostura is what makes this different from any other gin sour. Don't skip the dash on top — it's the aroma signature.
