Variant

A Dry Martini with a pickled cocktail onion instead of an olive or lemon. The savory cousin. Charles Dana Gibson, 1908.

Ingredients

  • London Dry Gin2½ ounces
  • Dry Vermouth½ ounce
  • Pickled Cocktail Onion1 each

Directions

Add base spirit and dry vermouth to a mixing glass with plenty of ice. Stir 30-40 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a pickled cocktail onion.

Notes

Quality pickled onion (Tillen Farms) — not the slimy bar versions.
