Lapsang Tea Concentrate

A strong cold or hot steep of lapsang souchong — smoky, dark, and concentrated enough to anchor a drink where peated whisky would.

Ingredients

  • Lapsang Souchong Leaves4 tablespoons
  • Water2 cups

Directions

Steep 4 tbsp lapsang souchong leaves in 2 cups just-off-boil water for 5 minutes (or cold-brew 8 hours). Strain and chill.

Notes

The campfire smoke is the whole point. Brew at double strength; the smoke fades as it dilutes.
