Bourbon spiced with allspice dram, lime, and bitters — warm, exotic, and Caribbean-tinged. A forgotten gem of the 1930s.

Ingredients

  • Bourbon Whiskey2 ounces
  • Allspice Dram½ ounce
  • Fresh Lime Juice½ ounce
  • Simple Syrup¼ ounce
  • Angostura Bitters1 dash

Directions

Shake bourbon, allspice dram, lime juice, simple syrup, and bitters with ice. Double-strain into a chilled coupe.

Notes

From the 1937 'Café Royal Cocktail Book'. The pimento (allspice) dram is the signature; it makes the whole drink read like baking spice.
