Equal parts gin, Campari, sweet vermouth. The drink that started the modern aperitivo revolution.

Ingredients

  • London Dry Gin1 ounce
  • Campari1 ounce
  • Sweet Vermouth1 ounce
  • Orange Peel1 each

Directions

Combine gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled. Strain over a large ice cube in a rocks glass. Express an orange peel over and drop it in.

Notes

Count Camillo Negroni asked his bartender to fortify his Americano with gin in place of soda. The result became one of the most-ordered cocktails on Earth.
