Rye, lemon, sugar, egg white, absinthe. Harry Craddock's lesser-known classic from the Savoy Cocktail Book, 1930.

Ingredients

  • Rye Whiskey2 ounces
  • Fresh Lemon Juice¾ ounce
  • Simple Syrup¾ ounce
  • Egg White1 each
  • Absinthe0.13 ounce

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Dry-shake 10 seconds. Add ice and shake 10 more. Double-strain into a chilled coupe.

Notes

The absinthe is small but assertive. Don't over-pour.
