Rye, Punt e Mes, maraschino. Vincenzo Errico at Milk & Honey, 2003. The Brooklyn family using Punt e Mes — bitter Italian vermouth.

Ingredients

  • Rye Whiskey2 ounces
  • Punt e Mes½ ounce
  • Maraschino Liqueur½ ounce
  • Brandied Cherry1 each

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a brandied cherry.

Notes

Punt e Mes is half vermouth, half amaro. Adds a bitter edge to the Manhattan structure.
