A bright, orange-forward Savoy classic — gin, both vermouths, orange juice, orange liqueur, and orange bitters. Complex and sunny at once.

Ingredients

  • London Dry Gin¾ ounce
  • Sweet Vermouth¾ ounce
  • Dry Vermouth¾ ounce
  • Fresh Orange Juice¾ ounce
  • Grand Marnier½ ounce
  • Orange Bitters1 dash
  • Orange Twist1 each

Directions

Shake gin, sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, orange juice, Grand Marnier, and orange bitters with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with an orange twist.

Notes

From Harry Craddock's 1930 'Savoy Cocktail Book'. The 'straight' version uses Grand Marnier; the 'curled' uses orange curaçao.
