A bourbon-and-Champagne showpiece carrying an enormous dose of bitters — seven dashes each of Angostura and Peychaud's. Big, spiced, and celebratory.

Ingredients
- Bourbon Whiskey1 ounce
- Cointreau½ ounce
- Angostura Bitters7 dashes
- Peychaud's Bitters7 dashes
- Champagne3 ounces
- Orange Twist1 each
Directions
Stir bourbon, Cointreau, and both bitters in a mixing glass with ice; strain into a chilled flute. Top with cold Champagne. Garnish with an orange twist.
Notes
Long told as a 1917 Louisville hotel original; later revealed to be a 1990s invention by Adam Seger, who eventually confessed the story was fabricated. Famous and delicious regardless — a rare case where the drink outran its myth.
