Siesta

A bitter, grassy tequila sour — the Hemingway Daiquiri rebuilt with tequila and Campari. One of the first agave neo-classics of the craft revival.

Ingredients

  • Blanco Tequila2 ounces
  • Campari½ ounce
  • Fresh Lime Juice½ ounce
  • Fresh Grapefruit Juice½ ounce
  • Simple Syrup½ ounce
  • Grapefruit Twist1 each

Directions

Shake tequila, Campari, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.

Notes

Created in 2006 by Katie Stipe at NYC's Flatiron Lounge; appears in the PDT Cocktail Book. Stipe's original used a quarter-ounce of Campari; half an ounce is the modern, bitter-loving standard. Verified.
