Sloe Gin Fizz

Sloe gin, lemon, sugar, and soda — a tart, ruby fizz built on the blackthorn-berry liqueur. Light, fruity, and built for an afternoon.

Ingredients

• Sloe Gin2 ounces
• Fresh Lemon Juice¾ ounce
• Simple Syrup½ ounce
• Soda Water3 ounces
• Lemon Wheel1 each

Directions

Shake sloe gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup with ice. Strain into an ice-filled tall glass and top with soda. Garnish with a lemon wheel.

Notes

A classic fizz dating to the late 1800s, when sloe gin (a sloe-berry liqueur, not a true gin) was a household staple. An egg white makes a Sloe Gin Silver Fizz.
