Ingredients

  • Irish Whiskey2 ounces
  • Sweet Vermouth¾ ounce
  • Green Chartreuse½ ounce
  • Brandied Cherry1 each

Directions

Stir Irish whiskey, sweet vermouth, and green Chartreuse with ice until cold. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a brandied cherry.

Notes

In print by Hugo Ensslin's 1916 'Recipes for Mixed Drinks'. Modern bartenders dial the Chartreuse back from the boozy original equal-parts toward a more balanced pour.
