Vodka Espresso

Vodka, espresso, sugar. Dick Bradsell's pre-Espresso-Martini original from the 1980s — same idea, simpler form.

Ingredients

  • Vodka2 ounces
  • Fresh Espresso (hot)1 ounce
  • Simple Syrup½ ounce
  • Coffee Beans3 each

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake very hard. Double-strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with three coffee beans.

Notes

Some sources cite this as the original 1983 invention; the Espresso Martini name and coffee liqueur came later. Both work.
