Air Mail

A Honey Daiquiri lengthened with Champagne — aged rum, lime, honey, and bubbles. Named for the new air-mail service when both flying and the drink felt like luxury.

Ingredients

  • Aged Rum1½ ounces
  • Fresh Lime Juice½ ounce
  • Honey Syrup½ ounce
  • Champagne3 ounces
  • Mint Sprig1 each

Directions

Shake aged rum, lime juice, and honey syrup with ice. Strain into a flute and top with cold Champagne. Garnish with a mint sprig.

Notes

Appears in a 1930s Bacardi promotional booklet. Honey syrup, not plain sugar, is the defining note.
