Whiskey, grapefruit, and honey — a three-ingredient sour cousin of the Brown Derby with the grapefruit pushed forward. Spare and refreshing.

Ingredients

  • Bourbon Whiskey2 ounces
  • Fresh Grapefruit Juice¾ ounce
  • Honey Syrup½ ounce
  • Grapefruit Twist1 each

Directions

Shake whiskey, grapefruit juice, and honey syrup with ice. Double-strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.

Notes

A pre-Prohibition sour documented in period manuals. Honey syrup, not sugar, gives it the rounded body.
